This project involves the design of a reading armchair conceived as a multifunctional piece of furniture, combining comfort with storage capacity for books, magazines, or blankets.
The armchair provides a comfortable reading position thanks to its generous cushions, while also integrating a lower compartment that allows easy access to books and magazines. This dual function optimizes space usage and enhances the overall user experience. Formally, it is a contemporary armchair that stands out for its wooden side panels, designed through a geometry based on symmetry and balance. This configuration not only ensures structural stability but also naturally incorporates the function of a built-in magazine rack.
During the development of the project, special attention was given to user ergonomics, as well as to the study of dimensions and proportions to ensure a comfortable and functional seating experience. This design originates from a Final Degree Project developed at Cercle Estudi by student Candela Romero, from the University of Design of Málaga.
