This project involves the design of a shopping cart for the supermarket Ametller Origen. From the initial ideation phase, its plastic manufacturing was considered, defining the shape and components according to mold development. The pyramidal geometry of the design facilitates the extraction of parts from the mold.

One of the key elements of the design is the structural pattern formed by a geometric triangle grid. This solution significantly reduces the weight of the cart without compromising its strength, as the system creates a highly rigid structure while incorporating multiple openings that lighten the overall assembly. The cart features rounded and smooth forms to ensure user safety and prevent bumps or sharp edges in a high-traffic environment like a supermarket. Additionally, it has been designed to be compact when multiple carts are stacked, reducing space occupied in aisles and storage areas.

During development, the ergonomics of use were also carefully studied, analyzing user posture, arm position, and the way the cart is held and pushed. This work provides a more comfortable and natural user experience while maintaining a large storage capacity. The result is a robust, lightweight, and efficient product that combines industrial design principles, ergonomics, and production optimization.
